Muth Jar

The Muth Jar was the first jar to have been specifically made for honey.  Honey is heavier than most liquids and if you fill a regular 16 oz jar with honey it will weigh about 22 oz. The Muth jar is a square jar that is 6 1/2 inches tall.  First made between 1879 -1883. The jar was embossed with the makers name thus the Muth Jar named after Charles Muth. The Muth jar today is a replica of this first honey jar and is it not only filled with delicious wildflower honey with a cork stopper but also a wonder jar to refill and reuse.
